A Week Late

So this is a week late (can you figure out why?). Anyhow, I think it's pretty accurate. How many digits do you know? I can get through 5.

CU

It was a pretty good sports weekend for Cornell. First the hockey team upset Union to make it to the ECAC semifinals next weekend. Then the basketball team learned where it will be playing on Thursday (Anaheim).

So here's the question:

Is a game between Stanford and Cornell the smartest basketball game ever played in the NCAA tournament? And how many times will other people bring that up during the telecast?

Plagirism and Dead People

I could just give you a link to James' blog for this post, but that would lazy of me. This weekend I got taken to the Frozen Dead Guy Festival about an hour from Denver. To say it's a bizarre festival is an understatement. What seemed to be the highlight of the festival was the coffin races on Saturday afternoon. Kendra and I went up to watch James and his team. Since I just italicized watch, you know that's not what I did.

Before I knew it I was carrying a home-built coffin across a playground. Not just any playground either. The race organizers thought that it would be funny interesting to put a some junk around the playground. The junk included a shed that was way too small for two teams to fit through, a swingset sans swings, and several three feet tall mounds of snow to run over. I ate it twice, but I don't think that either of the times were necessarily my fault. The first was during a Chinese fire drill when the guy next to me ran the wrong way. The second was when half the team ate it on a snow mound. It's awful hard to carry a coffin when the three of the five people on your team are on the ground. So instead of carrying the coffin by myself, I did the only reasonable thing. I fell down. And waited there for everyone else to get up. There's absolutely no other explanation for why I would sit in the snow with hundreds of people jeering.

Anyway, this post is quickly turning into the most poorly written entry of all time. It's basically an unexplainable event so I'll wrap it up. The bottom line was that this was not only a lot more fun than I expected it would be, it was incredibly more difficult. Here's a picture of me falling for your enjoyment (you'll have to zoom in).

Did I mention that the team theme was Napoleon Dynamite? I'm taking the picture, as I was happily planning to spectate only. What's great about the picture is that it was about 25 degrees outside with a brisk wind that felt something like a roundhouse kick to the face. Get it?. The rest can be found here.

Quicky

One more thing. Things are up and running with my new project/hobby. Check it out here:

Cooking Bouchon

That's Cool

Somebody I've never heard of before left me this message on Facebook yesterday:

"I HOPE SANTANA BREAKS HIS CRANIUM OPEN METS SUCK PHUCK U"

So, Dan McHugh, thanks for that well punctuated mix of English and 8 year old swearing. Since it's Facebook, this guy is either from Cornell (probably not) or Philly (probably). What's your guess?

Hint: Guess Philly.

Stay classy Philadelphia.

When Geeks Have Cool Jobs

Sometimes your life blogging isn't as interesting as other people's lives writing. This is one of those days, so just read this:

Pretty Awesome

Save some time though, this is definitely going to take longer to read than my average post. About 200 times longer.
